Live Music for the Halloween Weekend
Some people love getting dressed up for Halloween. The sense of escape that this allows you can’t be beat, but still others are waiting for this weekend to quietly drift by. Is there anything to do that doesn’t require you to replicate your favorite superhero? If you are one of those people who is looking for alternate activities this weekend, here something that might strike your fancy.
Festival Miami is the festival that launches the South Florida Arts Season. The festival began on October 9th and will conclude on November 3rd and helps to expand academic opportunities and cultural enrichment through the 4 week line up. Each week had a surrounding theme around it and this last week’s focus in on “Music of the Americas.” The performances will take place at the Maurice Gusman Hall in Coral Gables, and tickets start at just $15.
- 10/30/08 at 8:00 pm - Three Can Tango Too! A Pablo Ziegler Trio: Pablo Zieglar, Award-winning pianist and composer brings with him the Ensemble for New Tango, as he uses the piano as a percussion instrument to bring you jazz harmonies and have you reminisce on early 20th Century Classical music.
- 10/31/08 at 8:00 pm - Eddie Palmieri Ensemble presents — Jazz En Clave: This “Sun of Latin Music” combines Afro-Caribbean rhythms and traditional jazz with his love for the piano.
- 11/1/08 at 8:00 pm - Ballroom Revolution: Join in for an evening of energetic dancing with the World Salsa Champions, Issac and Laura Altman, as they bring Salsa, Tango, Rumba, the Waltz, Fox Trot and many more to the stage.
