What Not to Pack - Travel Southern Style
I found this little article on Woman’s Day and it really reminded me just how hard it is for some people to pack. Yes, I was one of those people who had a different outfit for everyday, every color of lipstick that I owned and pretty much the kitchen sink packed in my suitcase.
While I still find it difficult to decide what to leave behind, I no longer have to claim the biggest suitcase we own… just for my stuff. If Britt can manage everything in a backpack for two weeks, I should be able to as well!
Any tips you would like to share??

Here’s my tip:
I only pack things that I can wear in more than one way. For example, a t-shirt that will work with a pair of shorts, and can also be layered under a jacket with a skirt.
I also only pack one color of shoes, generally black. Shoes take up a lot of space and get heavy, so this helps cut down the need for another color of shoe to go with different outfits.
The only exception that I make to this rule is if I need to pack an outfit for a special occasion (wedding, formal event, etc.).

I know what you mean about shoes. At one time I took a case just for shoes… but quickly decided that THAT was nuts. Now I try to make do with just a pair of dressy sandals, flip flops for around the pool and a pair of runners so that I don’t come into contact with those nasty fireants.
