Continuing across the South in search of blooms…
Visiting Alabama…
- View over 250,000 azaleas in bloom at Mobile’s Bellingrath Gardens during the Spring. Various varieties include ‘Southern Charm’ and ‘Pride of Mobile.’ Other flowers, such as Easter lilies and delphiniums are in bloom and on display throughout the gardens as well.
- The town of Semmes will hold their annual Azalea Festival on April 5. The day-long event includes a number of events for all ages.
- The Huntsville Botanical Garden will host a Spring Festival of Flowers April 29-30. Expect to see tulips, daffodils and more in full, colorful bloom.
While in Georgia…
- See Georgia’s spring colors, such as wildflowers and Dogwoods, during a half-day hike in Panola Mountain State Park on March 22.
- Welcome in Spring and blooms during Callaway Gardens’ Spring Celebration March 22 - April 20. Different events take places each weekend.
- Identify wildflowers on a guided tour at Providence Canyon State Park on March 29.
- March 29-30 is the dates for the 27th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Conyers. Further south in Macon is the 26th Annual International Cherry Blossom Festival March 28 - April 6.
Exploring Florida…
- The 8th Annual Wild Azalea Festival on March 15 will take place at the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs. Activities include entertainment, crafts fair and more.
- Enjoy spending time in Bok Sanctuary in Lake Wales as March - May are the times this area is in full bloom, including orange blossoms.
