Field of Food – helping to raise 1,000,000 pounds of food

Did you know that 1 in 6 residents in Broward County will go hungry tonight? They may be your friends, your neighbors and now is your chance to help. Next Saturday, October 18th, Volunteer Broward has teamed up with Broward County Schools and The Million Meals Committee to present the first annual Field of Food. Their goal is to collect 1,ooo,ooo pounds of food as part of the largest one-day food drive that has ever taken place in Broward County, Florida.

Who loves a good cocktail? How about an evening where local bartenders compete to come up with the best cocktail, and you get to be the judge? If you are in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday, August 27th you are in luck as Dine Magazine will be hosting a cocktail competition sponsored by Partida. Local bartenders from Himmarshee Bar & Grill, Riley McDermott’s, 3030 Ocean, Blue Martini and Trina will compete to create the best cocktail of the night.
