For some reason, we have never gotten around to buying ourselves a good digital camera.
My husband has one for work and if we want to take a photo of something, we simply borrow that one. But you can’t very well take it on vacation and until now, that usually meant using a disposable and you know what that means. You either have too many shots left on the camera so you shoot and click everything just to use it up, or you run out too quickly and miss some great shots. “Some friends with really old Virginia roots told me about this but I’ve had no luck with any research. They said older relatives refused to celebrate “that Yankee holiday” and would go hunting or do something else instead.
Lincoln proclaimed a national T’giving Day in 1863 and then Roosevelt in 1939 changed the date but his order wasn’t mandatory. It was scornfully referred to by some as “Franksgiving” and FDR wasn’t a Southern favorite anyway.”

Colonial Lake in Charleston is the perfect spot to enjoy a bit of nature. There is a sidewalk that winds around the man made lake with plenty of benches to provide a place to enjoy the scenery. Or a jog around the lake might be perfect for a summer afternoon…

My husband has one for work and if I want to take a photo of something, I simply borrow his. But you can imagine that there are times when that is simply not very convenient. Like yesterday… he was on a business trip and took the camera with him. Good thing that I didn’t want it. So, now I’m thinking that maybe I should go looking for one of my own. So, where do you start? What do you need to know?
