The river runs for 135 miles (within the National Park) but from start to finish… a little more than 150 miles in length. And don’t be fooled by the calmness of the waters. They are not all like this. The upper stretches of the river are for those who look for a bit of excitement… white water rapids. The lower stretches offer long lazy floats… my idea of a holiday.

Man finds Canary Diamond in Park

Well, if you ever want to go diamond hunting while on vacation in the south, you might want to pencil in a few hours at The Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas. One such visitor unearthed a 5.47 canary diamond that was bright yellow and had no flaws. But get this… it was only the second largest gem found at the park this year. Someone found one that was larger??
