by Apryl on April 30th, 2008

Don’t let the current (or future) gas prices prevent you from traveling. In fact, the AAA Four Diamond WaterColor Inn and Resort, located on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast in the small community of WaterColor is offering guests who stay a minimum of three consecutive nights before May 23 (hint, hint: possible Mother’s Day getaway) a gas rebate. Just present the valid, dated gas receipt from your drive at check-in and the total amount (up to $200) will be deducted from your bill at check-out.

WaterColor is one of the 14 plan06. WaterColorInn_StreetScapened communities found along 30-A, collectively known as the Beaches of South Walton. Developed by St. Joe Company, one of Florida’s largest real estate development companies, the 499-acre resort and residential community’s distinctive features has to be its open spaces and preservation areas.

It’s my favorite part too! I grew up about 2 hours from the Beaches of South Walton and I can remember when there wasn’t much between Destin and PCB. Amazing how times have changed.

Indeed! It’s amazing how much Florida has grown! My family moved to the Orlando area in 1989, same year that the Orlando Magic came into the league and the year Universal Studios opened. I believe MGM studios had just opened the previous year.

Downtown Orlando was pretty dumpy aside from Church Street and there just wasn’t the urban sprawl there is now. I feel for the people who wanted a quiet life outside Orlando and found that the city managed to throw itself on their door step. Happens all the time though!
