Saving Money: Restaurant Weeks Around the South
At first glance, restaurant weeks may seem to be an unconventional way to save money. However, for around $30 (give or take), you can enjoy a three-course meal and use the money left over to offset gas prices. You can even go a step further to make a weekend out of it and stay at a hotel offering gas cards or rebates. Pretty savvy, isn’t it?
With these restaurants weeks, you need to act fast, because everyone loves food and places get book pretty quickly.
- Over a dozen restaurants are participating in Charlotte, N.C.’s first annual Restaurant Week. Even though the event started on Saturday, July 12, you still might be able to find availability at some restaurants. The week ends on July 18.

- Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week is slated for July 21-27. Over 20 restaurants are participating. For $25, you can enjoy a three-course meal.
(Four hotels around the area are offering special packages for the week.)
- Forgot a week, Miami’s celebration is a month long. Miami Spice Restaurant Month begins on August 1 and ends on September 30. The participating restaurants, which there are many, serve either lunch, dinner or both. It’s $23 for lunch and $36 for dinner.

- Baltimore (Md.) Restaurant Week is scheduled for July 26-August 3. Over 90 restaurants participate and offer either a three-course lunch ($20.08) or dinner ($30.08). In addition, different culinary-related experiences are held during the week.
