Saving Money: Hot Deals for Cool Summer Travel in the Summer

Is it hot where you are? It’s hot here (Georgia) and I’m not usually one to complain because I grew up in the deep South (lower Alabama, aka L.A.), but the heat is draining. Well, I have found some “cool” deals for your summer travel. When you think about it, isn’t the heat more tolerable when you’re on vacation anyway?

• The Glen Hotel, situated in downtown Atlanta, Ga., is offering various packages this summer, including “Gallons on the Glenn.” When you show them your gas receipt(s) at check-in, you’ll receive a $25 gas card.

• Richmond, Va.’s (The) Jefferson Hotel is offering travelers on I-95 and beyond a “Halfway to Your Holiday” special that includes complimentary parking.

• Hotel Palomar Arlington (Va.) is offering a $50 gas card and a travel snack pack as part of their “Hop, Skip and a Tank” package. Valid Thursdays - Sundays, through September 7, a two-night minimum stay is required.

• The  “Let’s Make a Deal” Package at Hotel Monaco Alexandria allows you to choose your perk. Your options at this Virginia-based property include a $20 gas card, complimentary parking, or Continental breakfast for two.

• The Hilton Sandestin is offering “Vacation in Your Own Backyard” package as an option for locals to enjoy a quick getaway. You can choose from two options, both include one night accommodations. The Wine & Dine the Night Away features dinner at Seagar’s Prime Steaks and Seafood Restaurant; and the Relax and Rejuvenate offers spa treatments.

• “Gas ‘N Go” at the Dauphine Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, La. This one-night package includes a $25 gas card upon arrival and a deluxe Continental breakfast. Package is good through September 30.
