- Even though the calendar reads January, it’s not too soon to start planning your Spring getaways. Unsure what to do when the weather gets a little warmer? Why don’t you head South for some fun. The Southeastern Tourism Society (STS) has their top 20 picks for Spring 2008. Don’t forget, you can also find their top 20 picks for Winter 2008 as well.
- Have you seen the movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets? Well, Washington, D.C. is offering a special Trails to Treasure tour that visits many of the sites featured in the movie.
- Add some spice to your January by attending Sandestin’s 19th Annual Great Southern Gumbo Cook-Off on January 12. You just might have the opportunity to sample of the best gumbo east of the Mississippi. When you are at Sandestin, don’t miss the Village at Baytowne Wharf’s newest addition, an ice skating rink. Hurry though, the rink is open until January 27.
- Get ready to laugh at Charleston’s Comedy Festival, January 16 -19. Over 30 shows will be performed in six different venues, featuring acts from Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and New York City.
