- Boo.com listed Golfing in Florida as one of their choices for an Ultimate Father’s Day Vacation (Father’s Day is 15, in case you forgot). Specifically they gave props to Plantation Golf Resort & Spa, located an hour and a half north of Tampa in Crystal River.
- While your mind is still on Florida (Tallahassee to be exact), the Museum of Florida History is hosting the national traveling exhibit, Pets in America, June 20-August 10. The exhibit features pet artifacts
from public and private collections from across the country. To make it more Florida specific, the museum will incorporate
pictures of previous Florida governors with their animals and other famous Florida animals like Flipper and the cats at the Ernest Hemingway Home in Key West as well as history on state attractions, Monkey Jungle and Gatorland.
- As you may be aware, summer is the time for yard sales in the South. On June 6-8 is the Dixie Highway 90-Mile Yard sale. Find deals and treasures throughout the 13 communities located between Ringgold and Marietta on the Dixie Highway.
- North Carolina’s largest air show, MCAS Cherry Point Air Show in Havelock, N.C., is scheduled for June 6-8. The event features flybys, military performers, and everyone’s favorite - the Blue Angels.
- At the 4th Annual Spice and Music Festival in Opelousas, La., you can enjoy music and good food as you celebrate with the city their spice industry.
- Catch the last weekend of the 37th Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, Texas. This music event features over 100 artists and other activities throughout the weekend.
- Tupelo, Miss., the birthplace of Elvis
, hosts the 10th Annual Tupelo Elvis Festival June 6-8. Events include live performances and an Elvis Look-a-Like Pet Parade.
