My First Trip to Kentucky…
In the north, you always hear about the grass being blue. Imagine my surprise when I found that this wasn’t the case at all. It was a gorgeous shade of green, but it definitely isn’t blue. It does have flowers though!
I did a little digging and found that some believe that Kentucky Bluegrass was brought over from Europe by early colonists. Another source say that the grass is native to Utah! So how did it get its name?? Never did find out. I looked and looked and looked.
If someone knows, I am really curious now!

I grew up in Kentucky, and was always told that it was dubbed that when the first settlers came to Kentucky, and saw this particular grass growing~ in certain lights, it looks blue, or at least, bluish.

Well, I’m just going to have to go back and take another look. I want to see grass that is blue!
