My 10 Simple Pleasures… Southern Style
Oh, how I wish I could live down here full time… maybe someday, but until then I can dream. So until we can take back our house permanently, here my list of simple southern pleasures.
1. The beaches… Florida has the whitest sand I have ever seen.
2. My pool… yes, that’s me in my pool early one morning trying to keep my hair from getting wet! It worked for a while, but then the pins fell out. There went my long straight hair into a mass of uncontrolable curls. I hate curly hair! At least on me!
3. The Cracker Barrel. What a neat store and I keep saying that I’m going to bring rocking chairs home with us. Have yet to that!
4. Florida sunsets. Are they always this amazing or is it a vacation thing??
5. Barbecues… who wants to cook when you can barbecue every one of your meals??
6. Books a Million… that is a very dangerous store. Maybe it’s a good thing that I don’t live there year round.
7. The way hair shines in the sunlight. Yes, I know, I know
8. Early morning walks… Well, I don’t go for early morning walks but Britt does and she says that they are great. Actually now that I think about it, she goes for early morning runs and she’s usually home before I even finish breakfast. Now afternoon walks are cool. I get to look at everyone else’s gardens.
9. Palm trees. For obvious reasons we can’t grow them where I live, but my husband spotted some fake ones that he threatens to put in our front yard. Not sure what the neighbors would say! ;)
10. Rainstorms. I have never heard rain pound on a tin roof the way it does in Florida. Absolutely amazing!
