Let’s Celebrate: National Tourism Week with the State of Mississippi Icons
*Disclaimer: Even though National Tourism Week was last week, due to a major project I was delayed in finishing the states. If you enjoy traveling and learning about different places, I don’t think you’ll mind that I extended the week.
The Music Tells a Story: When I think of Mississippi, the first thing that comes to my mind is blues music. The state is home to the ever-growing statewide Blues Trail that features around 120 places of interest to this genre. A must-visit for any blues fan is
Clarksdale. Located at the crossroads of Highway 61 and 49,
the town is home to the Delta Blues Museum, as well as numerous festivals, such as the Sunflower River Blues Festival and the Juke Joint Festival. If you are in need of overnight accommodations, consider the Shack Up Inn.
Double Down: Okay, well maybe casinos aren’t iconic in a sense, but they definitely are a part of Mississippi’s scenery, and a lot of people associate casinos with the state. From Tunica to Vicksburg to Greenville to Natchez to Philadelphia
to Mississippi Gulf Coast, you’ll have no problem finding a casino to test your skills and, of course, luck.
