Labor Day Weekend Happenings in Florida
Okay, so you all ready know about Digital Graffiti on Alys Beach happening on August 30, but that only scratches the surface of what’s happening in the Sunshine State during the holiday weekend.
Here’s some other events:
- Wondering what to do before or after Digital Graffiti? Why not head to The Village of Baytowne Wharf (Sandestin) and enjoy the Baytowne Wharf Art Expo, August 29-31. This event, featuring artists from around the southeast, kicks off the Beaches of South Walton’s Autumn Tides (more on that later.)
- Happy 443rd birthday, St. Augustine!
Can you just imagine the candles on that cake?! The festivities kick off on August 28 and conclude on August 30. All events are free, and some of the highlights include 16th century-style entertainment, the landing reenactment and of course, the birthday party.
- Geckos are taking over Gulfport; well, at least they are on August 30 during the Gulfport Gecko Fest. This family-friendly event features strolling street performers, live musical entertainment and much more.
- The 34th Annual Pioneer Florida Days at the Pioneer Florida Museum and Village in Dade City is slated for August 31 - September 1. This two-day event includes Civil War reenactments
, live entertainment, craft demonstrations and children’s activities.
