It’s Happening in the South: Contraband Days Pirate Festival

by Apryl on April 20th, 2008

Ahoy Maties! Legend has it that the notorious pirate, Jean Lafitte hid his treasures in the bayous off of Lake Charles, Louisiana. While the treasure still hasn’t been discovered, you can join in a 12-day celebration known as Contraband Days Pirate Festival. Party like a pirate at one of Louisiana’s largest festivals, and the oldest one in the city of Lake Charles from April 29 - May 11. The events include a “Jean Lafitte” taking over the city, live entertainment, a carnival, boat parade and much more.
