In Search of the Perfect Bathroom
When I was younger, I was preparing for a trip to Turkey. I kept hearing that the country was beautiful and the people were extremely friendly, but the bathrooms - be careful because you are going to have to pee in a hole in the ground. Yikes?*! What was I getting myself into? I was only 16 at the time so I never thought twice about finding a bathroom to relieve myself, but now its a different story.
From port-a-pottys to the luxurious bathrooms at 5-star hotels, there is a major difference. I’ll walk out of my way to find somewhere that offers soothing soap, automatic dispensers and a clean atmosphere. But, how do you know what you are getting yourself into? Now’s the time to check out The Bathroom Diaries and your problems will be solved forever.
This brilliant website offers an online database of restrooms around the world. Created in 2000, The Bathroom Diaries has rated over 12,000+ bathrooms. People submit their ratings that cover an overall rating, hours, gender, fee, details, style and personal comments from travelers.
So whatever you are looking for in your bathrooms, this site is sure to help you out. And…where do you think the best bathrooms in the world are? Kawakawa, Bay of Islands in New Zealand is rated as #1. Since, I have never been there, my favorite would have to be at Sloan’s in West Palm Beach. Visit The South Florida Traveler for some more info and photos.
