Here Comes Oktoberfest

Being of German descent, my eyes light up when Oktoberfest comes around. It gives everyone a chance to gather with friends, try new beer, eat lots of food and just simply enjoy life. Oktoberfest comes from Munich, Bavaria, Germany where the annual festival takes place for 16 days in late September/early October. This is the most popular festival in the area where over 6 million people attend each year.
As a way to latch on to our heritage (and of course, enjoy a few beers), numerous cities throughout the world now celebrate this festive occasion. Here are some in our area that might be worth stopping by:
- Munich in Cape Coral takes place October 17-19 and October 24-26 bringing singing and dancing, food and drink, games and entertainment for the whole family.
- Oktoberfest in Miami at Fritz und Franz Bierhaus, October 3-12
- Oktoberfest in Panama City, October 3-4
