Have You Always Wanted to be on the Price Is Right?

by Katherine Lynch on August 12th, 2008

Have you been dreaming of that time to shine? Well, if you are and are in Miami tomorrow, August 13th, head on over to Grove Isle Hotel & Spa. They will be hosting a model search for The Price is Right. Yes, television’s longest running game show is looking for a few new models to add to their line-up, and there will be an open casting call tomorrow from noon until 4pm.

In September, one lucky winner from each market will be chosen to go to LA to audition. The top 5 finalists will each have an opportunity to appear on an episode that will air from October 20-24.  The winner will not be decided by judges at the competition, but rather by an online viewer vote this fall. All contestants must be 18 and older. More information and an application can be found here.

My son was on “The Price is Right.” It was his awesome summer vacation after his freshman year in college. It was when Bob Barker was still onthe show. My son was 19 at the time and went with a group of his buddies from Phoenix. One of his buddies was like the all-time-fan and set up the trip. But of all the guys in the group–about six of them–he was the one called up to go on. His name is Rob, and he thinks that’s why. Anyway, it was hilarious to watch because he was just the lousiest bidder ever! We taped it and crack up about that show still. He’s 25 now. He won a washer and dryer, though, some make-up (like he needs that), and dishes. Oh, gosh! This was before YouTube became so popular. Otherwise, maybe we’d have that on YouTube, and you could see for yourself.

Thanks for giving me that memory. I’ll pass on this audition, though. Too funny.
