Chances are you probably have never heard of Harlem, Ga., unless you live near the area, or happen to be a Laurel and Hardy fan.
What exactly does this comedy duo to do with this small town located about 20 miles from Augusta? Well, its more Hardy than Laurel; Oliver Hardy was born in Harlem in 1892; however, his family eventually moved to Milledgeville where he would later work at the city’s first movie house.

It seems that a lot of people are willing to do just that. I guess if you want a table at The Lady & Sons at 102 Congress St. in the historic district in Savannah, Georgia, you really don’t have any choice. But I want to hear from you. Okay, I have stayed in hotels that offered amazing views, but this is something that I have never tried… and probably never will. I have this thing called claustrophobia and I don’t think that I would last long. But, it is still awfully cool and I’m sure that there are lot of you out there who would love to try this out. So, here goes.

Well, sort of…
You already know about “Talk Like a Pirate Day” and to help your kids get down the lingo, Kim Kennedy and her brother Doug, came up with this book. It just might help to get your kids back to reading! Who knows… Pirate Pete just might be the one to give them them push. Arrr, matey!!
But here’s the interesting part. Author, Kim Kennedy and her brother Doug Kennedy (who illustrates the books) live in the bayou town of Monroe, Louisiana.

It looks as if Memphis is the place to be this week and from the weather forecast, it looks like a lot of relaxing will be  going on. And this should bring a lot of tears… “Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie will be in Memphis to attend a concert that will feature her father performing on a huge screen. As a tribute to her dad, Presley has added her voice to the original version of Elvis’ 1969 hit In The Ghetto.”
It’s hard to believe that he’s been gone for three decades!

I don’t know about you, but I tend to always lose something while on vacation. And more often than not, it’s my sunglasses, so, for that reason, I’m choosing a pair of sunglasses that are gorgeous enough to want to wear and inexpensive enough not to mind losing.
If I manage to bring them home with me… even better

This museum is open year round, but I think that it might be just the place to take Dad for Father’s Day.  There are some amazing classics to check out ranging from the Lincoln Continental of President JFK and President Clinton’s Mustang Convertible.  And there are also car shows in June and September!
