Now This Sounds Like One Cool Job!

It’s working at the Disney Distribution Center. “It is a receiving, packing and shipping center for everything Disney. Toys, electronics, clothes, housewares and furniture pass through the warehouse.”
Just think… you get to see everything before it hits the stores! I think the other me would love this job just as much as this me!
“Employees are known as “cast members” and customers as “guests.” “It’s all about being part of our vocabulary,” Hanna said. “We consider them as extended family, and we spend a lot of time together.” I’m definitely liking the sound of this.

Today’s Travel Reminder

Today’s Travel Reminder

It’s a bit… do what I say and not what I do… kind of tip. So, here goes…
Make sure that you write down all of the names and addresses of people you want to send postcards to. I intended to send a half dozen or so while in Florida a couple of months ago and guess what. I didn’t have the addresses with me. And even worse… I told everybody that I would send them each a card.
It just occurred to me this morning that it might be a good idea to write out all of the addresses and put …read more

Well, here is one that is tame enough for even you Hey, you might even enjoy it. Okay the only thing that I didn’t like was the fact that you have to sit alone. Stretching Out With a Good Southern Book

Stretching Out With a Good Southern Book

I never go on vacation without packing a good book to go with me. I rarely have the time to read while I’m home, but for some reason the days are just longer when you are vacationing. And that is probably a very good thing!

Bringing Your Vacation Home With You!

Bringing Your Vacation Home With You!

Traveling, in my opinion, is all about making memories that you can enjoy long after you get home. That’s where souvenirs come into play. Whoever thought up marketing all those little bits and pieces that fall into this category was brilliant. Most of the items that you hand over your money for, would be laughed at if you weren’t on vacation. Admit it… lol… it’s true. Some of them are incredibly tacky!! But they are still little keepsakes and you can put them to use after you unpack them! No, they don’t have to go straight into the garbage while …read more

I’m Home From Florida

I’m Home From Florida

Just got back  and I miss it already. We had to say good-bye to our pool and that was really hard. We took our last swim last night and I know that this is going to be really hard to believe but we all looked and the temperature of the water was 101 degrees. I knew that it was usually nice and warm at this time of year, but it was literally like stepping into the bath! Just a bit too hot to be refreshing, but it sure beats a cold pool where ever step leaves you wondering just …read more

Day 5 in Florida – What I Did Yesterday

Day 5 in Florida – What I Did Yesterday

The Imagineering Field Guide to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World
Well, today is going to be short and sweet. As I type this, all I want to do is to crawl back into bed.
Yesterday, we drove to Orlando (3 hours with the traffic, but felt a lot longer) spent a few hours at The Mall at Millenia and I did some serious damage to my credit card. They had the MOST gorgeous Jimmy Choo handbag!! Then it was dinner and off to Downtown Disney until about ten. Obviously, I burned a whole lot of calories. The place is huge and …read more

Day 4 in Florida – What I Did Yesterday

Another fun day in sunny Florida. But really, are there any other kind??
*Went for a nearly morning swim. Can’t believe just how warm the water can be!! You can simply walk right in. Must look at the temperature to see just how warm the water is!!
*People seem to be very health conscious down here in Port Charlotte. Every morning I see several people out jogging and in 85 degrees plus, that’s just too hot for me. I will do all of my exercising either walking around a mall or swimming.
*Late afternoon, headed to the Port Charlotte Beach Complex. We simply …read more
