Bringing Your Vacation Home With You!

by SP on July 22nd, 2007

Traveling, in my opinion, is all about making memories that you can enjoy long after you get home. That’s where souvenirs come into play. Whoever thought up marketing all those little bits and pieces that fall into this category was brilliant. Most of the items that you hand over your money for, would be laughed at if you weren’t on vacation. Admit it… lol… it’s true. Some of them are incredibly tacky!! But they are still little keepsakes and you can put them to use after you unpack them! No, they don’t have to go straight into the garbage while shaking your head!

I have used Shadowbox frames on a number of occasions to showcase all of my bits and pieces. I tend to pick up everything from take out restaurant menus, to ticket stubs and pretty much anything else that catches my eye. It is amazing how interesting they can become when they are creatively arranged.

So what is my brilliant idea on using all of these bits and piece?? The shadowbox frames that I mentioned above can be displayed just about anywhere in the house where you have one of those narrow little jut-out walls that won’t hold a normal piece of artwork, and the rest I use them to decorate the laundry room. Is there a room that you hate quite as much? A few bulletin boards strategically placed and you are set to go. Pin to your hearts content. Suddenly laundry isn’t quite as boring as it once was!! Suddenly all of those sun drenched memories come back to put a contented smile on your face!
