Everyone is doing it, so why aren’t you? Green travel is more than a trend, it’s a way of life. We all care about the earth and the environment, and want to protect it, because if we don’t, who will? And it’s never too late to develop some good habits.
It’s quite simple to travel “green” in the South - you just need to know where to look.
- Both Florida and Virginia provide information on their respective state’s green properties. Virginia takes it a step further by listing green attractions, restaurants and more.
- Looking for green accommodations in other states? You can search Environmentally Friendly Hotels’ database by typing in the state.
- If you are looking for other ideas and tips on how to travel green, there is everything from “greening” your road trip to how stay green for your entire trip.
- What about eating green? Green Restaurant Association has an on-going list of certified-green restaurants. Another option is buying food locally through farmers’ markets and U-pick it farms.
