Labor Day Weekend Events in Louisiana and Mississippi
From music to art festivals, there is a lot of fun events going on in Louisiana and Mississippi during Labor Day Weekend.
Here’s an idea of what you can find:
In Louisiana
- Enjoy good music and good food at the 26th Annual Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival in Opelousas on August 30. The event also includes arts and crafts vendors and children’s activities.
In Mississippi
- Love the Blues? If so, you want to make it to the 13th Annual Howlin’ Wolf Memorial Blues Festival in West Point on August 29. Taking place at the West Point Civic Center, it’s an evening filled with performances from various Blues acts. Since you are in town anyway, be sure to make your way to the 30th Annual Prairie Festival on August 30. Featuring arts and crafts vendors as well as live entertainment, fine arts, food and more.
- Greenville comes alive musically with the Mississippi Jazz an
d Heritage Festival 2008. Scheduled for August 30-31, the event features a lecture, workshop, live music and food.
- Discover Ocean Springs’ arts community during the Art Walk 2008 on August 30.
