Even More July 4th Celebrations Throughout the South
Still looking for something to do tomorrow? Well, here are some last minute ideas:
- If you happen to be around the Atlanta, Ga. area, the Centennial Olympic Park is hosting a 4th of July Celebration that includes family activities, free concert performance by the Atlanta Symphony Youth Organization and of course, fireworks. Another alternative is the Fantastic Fourth Celebration at nearby Stone Mountain Park. This event last through the 5th, so if you can’t make it tomorrow, there is always Saturday night. The festivities feature the popular laser show.
- Watch the sky light up in colors behind the world’s largest cast iron statue during the 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Vulcan in Birmingham, Ala.
- Enjoy a concert followed by fireworks at the World’s Fair Park in Knoxville, Tenn. The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will play a series of scores, including patriotic tunes.
- Lexington, Ky.’s Red, White and BOOM is the city’s largest outdoor country concert. After enjoying the performances, stay for the fireworks.
- Alderson, W.Va.’s Fourth of July Celebration actually began on June 28. Don’t worry, you still have time to enjoy the events because the last day of the celebration is July 5. On the 4th, the festivities include a hot dog eating contest, live entertainment and fireworks.
