Football in the South
When I think of the south, I definitely don’t think about football. To be quite honest, when I heard that we were using football as this month’s theme, I wasn’t even sure if I would find anything. I’m big on beaches, restaurants and shopping, but football?? I just didn’t know what I would find. I was in for a bit of a surprise. It’s a lot more popular, than I would ever have guessed. Seeing that I don’t know anything about college football, I thought that I would just send you to all the official sites that would fill you in on the coming year.
Lets start with the Florida Gators No surprise that they would choose a gator as their mascot. I wonder if this is going to be a trend for the south??
Georgia also loves football I was soon to learn. They call themselves the GeorgiaDogs. Sounds like they want to give the “Gators” a run for their money to me. There is a pretty interesting auction going on at the moment!
It seems that football in Tennessee is just a wee bit popular as well. Here’s everything you probably want to know. And the Tennessee Sports Hall of fame has data for you as well… here!
The Alabama Crimson Tide Info Count down to kick off is not far off now!
Arkansas Razorbacks… according to their website, . The guys are young… what can I say?? But 90 minutes?? Yikes…
The Kentucky Wildcats aren’t about to be left behind. The site has a pretty active message board that you might want to check out.
The Warhawks of Louisiana have their 2007 schedule posted. And if you are a fan, the season tickets look to be a bargain… even the Skybox!
North Carolina fondly refers to their football team as the Tar Heels. You will find practice photos and updates. They even have podcasts if you want to follow them during your nightly walks.
The South Carolina GameCocks have their schedule up and waiting for you. Stop by and find out the latest schedules, suspensions, last years stats and just about anything else of interest to fans of this football team.

[...] SP of SoutherByways likes beaches, restaurants and shopping. Rather than talk about football (which, as you have seen, is not in her list), she’ll be showing you some of the best sites where you can read about football. [...]
