Day 7 – Cave Hill Cemetery
Perhaps I’m alone in feeling that cemeteries are tranquil and strangly enough comforting. To me, a Sunday afternoon walking tour of Cave Hill seems like the ideal activity to end our week in Louisville. There are three tours to choose from; one historical, one horticultural and the other modern. All three will keep you entertained and you may even learn a thing or two.
Cave Hill Cemetery was opened in 1848 and contains the gravesites of city founder Gen. George Rogers Clark, renown Courier-Journal editor Henry Watterson (and namesake of I-264), and many other noted Louisvillians.
