Strawberry Pie

Strawberry Pie

I can’t remember the last time we actually had pie for dessert, but apparently this one below is very southern and it does look awfully good.
Here are the ingredients…
• 1 qt. strawberries
• 2 Tbsp. flour
• 1 c. sugar
• ½ pt. whipping cream
• 1 pkg. Philadelphia crème cheese
• 1 baked pie shell
And perfect way to finish up a late night dinner around the pool.

The Ritz… 1/2 Price

The Ritz… 1/2 Price

You have always wanted to stay at the Ritz, well here’s your chance.
“Do this vacation the right way, and stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. You can get a room for $199 a night. While still a bit pricey, it’s a steal in comparison to the $499 you’ll pay in high season. This 5-year-old, 266-room hotel offers the best of everything. From the ultra-smooth bed linens to the sumptuous pastries at Boutique Chocolat, you’ll find luxury at its best here. And when you stay at this hotel, you won’t have to lift a finger.”

Better Burgers and Toppings

Better Burgers and Toppings

There are a lot of times when we just don’t feel like going out while on vacation and it certainly saves a lot of money if you can eat at your vacation home. And is here anything better than burgers, especially when you can change the toppings, the fillings and what they are served in. No, I don’t think so. Served around a pool, I think that I could happily live on burgers.
And just think what this would cost you if you ate out every night?

Beaches of Alabama

Beaches of Alabama

“Wondering where to plant your beach umbrella? You’ll find a variety of public beaches, each special in it’s own way and each offering a different experience. Try ‘em all and see which fits you best.”
I had no idea that there were so many! And here is an interesting point. The beach sand is absolutely gorgeous because it is made up of 95% quartz. In case you need something new to collect, beach sand is incredibly interesting. I began a few years ago and I swear, no two locations has the same kind of sand. It varies in color, texture and …read more

The Tomb Tour in Key West

The Tomb Tour in Key West

“Pay a visit to Key West’s singularly eccentric cemetery and you’ll discover that island residents can be just as quirky and entertaining in death as they are when they’re still breathing.”
Now from what I can tell from my stats, you want more haunted stuff and a cemetary fits in quite nicely. I have wandered through a lot of cemetaries over the past few years and there is just something a little unnerving about them. So, if this sounds like something you want to check out, you might as well start out with the best.

Tipping at Golf Courses

Tipping at Golf Courses

“Something all veteran golfers know and all beginning golfers learn soon enough is that tipping is often expected – and sometimes required – at golf courses.
What many golfers aren’t sure of, however, is the appropriate amount to tip.”
Not being a golfer, I have to admit that I never thought about the subject, but I can see how knowing what is expected, would come in handy.

Sunrise on the Mississippi

Did you know that “Natchez was settled by the French in 1716 and is the oldest permanent settlement on the Mississippi River. Natchez once had 500 millionaires, more than any other city except New York City.”
Seems like another world… definitely not like what I’m seeing outside my office window. Can life really be that relaxing??
